Privacy Policy
Maistro Works, LLC · Effective September 30, 2026 · Last updated October 7, 2026
This policy explains what Maistro Works, LLC ("Maistro," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website (maistro.chat, and maistro.works, which points here), the Maistro Chat service and its pages (including each shop's page at its own maistro.chat address), our text-message programs, and the calls Maistro answers for shops. By joining our list or using Maistro Chat, you agree to this policy; if you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Two kinds of people read this page, so it is written in two parts:
- Part A — Shop owners, their teams, and visitors: you visited this site, joined our list, run your shop with Maistro Chat, or work a chair at a shop that does.
- Part B — Clients of a shop that uses Maistro Chat: you texted or called a shop, and Maistro handled the message on the shop's behalf.
Part A — Shop owners, their teams, and visitors
What we collect
- What you give us. When you get on the list: your mobile number, which we confirm with a one-time code by text, then your name, shop name, city, and email. When you use Maistro Chat: the details needed to run your shop, such as your business name and address, your services, hours and prices, your calendar, the phone number you forward to Maistro, the payment-provider account you connect, and the logins for any system you ask Maistro to work in for you (see "Acting for your shop"). Sensitive registration details (for example your EIN) are entered through a secure form, never typed into a message thread.
- What you bring over. When you move to Maistro from another booking system or from your phone's contacts, we import your client list, notes and upcoming appointments. You're responsible for having the right to bring that information with you; we treat it the same as anything else in your shop's records.
- What the service records. Messages between you and Maistro Chat, actions Maistro takes for your shop, and the record of every booking, payment and change. This record is how the service works and how you can check what it did.
- Calls and voice. When Maistro answers your shop's phone, it may record the call and keep a transcript so you can see what was said and so we can improve how it handles calls. Callers are told the call may be recorded. If you'd rather Maistro not record your shop's calls, tell it so in your thread and recording is turned off for your shop.
- What the site collects on its own. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed, time). We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. Maistro Chat's pages use essential cookies only — the ones that keep you signed in and keep a form working — and nothing that follows you across other sites.
Your team
A shop can add the people who work its chairs. Each of them gets their own thread with Maistro, their own sign-in, and their own view: their book, their clients, their numbers. The shop owner decides what the shop can see of a chair's records and what a chair can see of the shop's, within the settings Maistro offers; the default is that a chair sees only their own. When a chair leaves a shop, their thread with that shop closes and their records stay with the shop's account.
Acting for your shop
Maistro does things, not just answers. Within the limits you set, it books and moves appointments, sends confirmations and reminders, takes deposits and payments through the provider you connected, and reports back. Where there's no direct connection to a system you use, Maistro may sign in and work in it the way you would — for example, to import your clients from your old booking system or to cancel a subscription you've asked it to cancel. It does this only with logins you give it, stored in a locked part of your account that is never shown in a message thread, and it stops and asks you whenever it hits a login check or something it can't finish. Anything outside the limits you've set waits for your yes. Every action is in your log.
How we use it
- To answer your request to join the list and to set up your shop.
- To run Maistro Chat for your shop, as described above.
- To keep the service safe: verify it's you, recover your account, detect misuse, and investigate problems you report.
- To improve the service. We do not use your business's data or your clients' data to train artificial-intelligence models, and we use only model providers whose terms prohibit training on our customers' data.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights, our users and our people.
Text messages — the Maistro programs
If you check the box on the sign-up form, you agree to receive text messages from Maistro Works about your place on the list and your setup. Message frequency: about 1–4 messages per month while you're on the list; one message per sign-in you request; during setup and once your shop is live, messages are conversational — as many as you send Maistro and it sends back, typically 20–40 a day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time; you'll get one message confirming you've been removed, and nothing further. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at privacy@maistro.works. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything.
Once your shop is on Maistro, your thread with Maistro — and each chair's — runs in Apple Messages on an iPhone, or over RCS or SMS on other phones. Those messages are part of running the service and continue until you close your account or turn a thread off.
Mobile information and text-messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share your mobile number only with the carriers and messaging providers that deliver the texts, and only to deliver them.
Who we share with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the service, and only for that purpose:
- Twilio, the messaging and telephone carriers, and — for RCS messages — Google, to deliver texts and calls.
- Apple, and Bird (our Apple-approved messaging provider), to run the Messages for Business conversations — yours with Maistro, and your customers' with your shop. Bird passes messages between Apple and Maistro and does not use them for anything else.
- Linq, our iMessage provider, to carry the iMessage conversation between you, the shop owner, and Maistro.
- The payment provider you connect (for example Stripe), to process payments and payouts. Card numbers never touch Maistro; the provider holds them and gives us a reference.
- Amazon Web Services, where the Maistro Chat service runs and your shop's information is stored. (This website is published through a separate hosting provider, which sees only ordinary web-server logs — never your shop's data.)
- The AI model provider that generates Maistro's replies, under terms that do not allow training on your data.
- The systems Maistro works in on your behalf, when you ask it to (your old booking system during a migration, for example) — only what that task needs.
- Our professional advisors (accountants, lawyers, auditors), under confidentiality.
- Anyone you tell us to share with.
We may also disclose information to comply with the law, to respond to lawful requests, to prevent fraud or abuse, to protect the safety of our users and our people, and to establish or defend legal claims.
If Maistro Works is ever part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; it stays under this policy, and we'll tell you before anything about its handling changes.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Information we've made anonymous
Some of what we keep has the names taken out — for example, a sales total that stays in your books after a client is deleted. We may use information like that, which can no longer be tied to a person, for any purpose, and we don't try to re-identify it.
How long we keep it
- Your list details: until you ask us to remove them, or 24 months after your last message with us, whichever comes first.
- Your shop's records while you use Maistro Chat: for as long as your account is open.
- Call recordings: 90 days, then deleted; transcripts stay with the shop's records. Ask Maistro to keep a specific recording longer or delete it sooner.
- When you disconnect a source (an inbox, a booking app you migrated from), we delete the copies we made from it. The records Maistro created for your shop — appointments, payments, consent, the action log — stay until you close your account and export them, or delete them client by client.
- When you close your account: you export first, then we delete your records within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons, which we keep only for that.
Your choices
- See and export. You can export your client list and history at any time.
- Delete. You can delete a client from every record. Sales records keep the amount and date without the client's name, so your books still add up.
- Close your account. Export first; then we delete your records. Your shop's phone number is yours: when you leave, you can port it to another carrier or service, and we'll cooperate with the port.
- Turn off recording. Tell Maistro in your thread.
- Stop texts. Reply STOP, as above.
Part B — Clients of a shop that uses Maistro Chat
If you texted or called a shop, Maistro Chat may have answered on the shop's behalf. The shop is the business you're dealing with; Maistro is the service the shop uses. Here is what that means for you:
- What is collected. Your phone number, the messages you send to the shop's number, your appointments, notes the shop keeps about the services you get, and — if you pay through the shop's link — a payment reference from the shop's payment provider. Maistro never sees your card number.
- How it is used. To book, confirm, remind and reschedule; to let the shop know you called; to take a deposit or payment when the shop's policy requires one; and to keep the shop's records accurate.
- Texts you receive. Confirmations, reminders and replies come from the shop's number because you contacted the shop. Promotional texts — offers, rebooking prompts — are sent only if you gave the shop written permission, for example by checking a box on your booking page. Reply STOP to any text to stop that kind of message; you'll get one confirmation and nothing more. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Text messages travel over carrier networks, which are not encrypted; don't text the shop anything you'd want kept secret.
- Calls. When Maistro answers the shop's phone, it tells you it's the shop's automated assistant and that the call may be recorded. Recordings are kept for 90 days.
- Not shared for marketing. Your mobile number and your messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes — not by the shop through Maistro, and not by Maistro.
- Your page. The link the shop texts you opens your own page: your appointments, history and cards on file (shown as the last four digits only). Only the phone that received the link can open it; we ask for a fresh code before anything sensitive. The page uses essential cookies only.
- Your rights. From your page you can ask to see, export, or delete what the shop holds about you through Maistro. Deleting removes your name from every record; the shop's sales totals keep the amount and date without your name. If you want to reach the shop about its own records, contact the shop directly.
Children
Maistro Chat is for businesses and their adult clients. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. A parent or guardian booking for a child does so under their own number. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sensitive fields are stored separately and shown one at a time. Maistro is a server-side service — messages are processed on our servers to do the work, and we say so plainly rather than claiming end-to-end encryption. No system is perfectly secure, and we don't promise one.
Because Maistro takes actions for you, there are things to know. It acts only within the limits you set, and anything outside them waits for your yes. Like any assistant that reads messages from the outside world, it could be sent instructions meant to steer it; we build against that, and you can check every action in your log and pause the service at any time. If something looks wrong, tell Maistro or email us.
Links to other sites
Shop pages and our messages may link to other sites — a map, a payment provider, a shop's own website. Those sites have their own policies; we're not responsible for them.
Changes
We'll post changes here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, or affects the text-message program, we'll tell account holders and list members by text or email first.
