Terms of Service
Maistro Works, LLC · Effective September 30, 2026 · Last updated October 7, 2026
These terms cover three things: this website, the Maistro text-message program, and using Maistro Chat for your shop during the founding pilot. By using any of them you agree to the part that applies. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why; it's part of these terms.
1. Who we are, and who can use this
Maistro Works, LLC (formerly BLNK Labs, LLC) ("Maistro," "we") makes Maistro Chat, a business manager you text. Contact: hello@maistro.works · 2261 Market Street, Ste 83792, San Francisco, CA 94114.
You must be 18 or older to join our list or use Maistro Chat, and you must be running a business or working a chair at one. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us about your shop.
2. The website
You may use maistro.chat to learn about Maistro Chat and to get on the list. Don't scrape it, attack it, or pretend to be someone else on it. We can change or take down the site at any time.
3. Text-message program terms (Maistro)
These terms also live on their own page at maistro.chat/sms-terms.
- Program name: Maistro, from Maistro Works.
- What you get: texts about your place on the list and, once you're set up, texts that run your shop — including the one-time code we text you to sign in.
- How you opt in: by checking the box on the sign-up form. Consent to texts is not a condition of buying anything.
- Message frequency: about 1–4 messages per month while you're on the list; one message per sign-in you request; during setup and once your shop is live, messages are conversational — as many as you send Maistro and it sends back, typically 20–40 a day.
- Cost: we don't charge for texts. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
- To stop: reply STOP to any message. You'll get one confirmation text and nothing further. Reply START to resume. You can also email hello@maistro.works.
- For help: reply HELP, or email hello@maistro.works.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Privacy: see our Privacy Policy. Your mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code; there's no password. Keep your phone secure — anyone who can read your texts can reach your Maistro thread. If you think someone else has used your account, tell Maistro in your thread or email hello@maistro.works right away. What you ask Maistro to do from your thread, we treat as you asking.
5. The founding pilot
Maistro Chat is in a founding pilot. If we invite your shop:
- Price. Free during the pilot. We'll tell you the price, in writing, before anything is charged, and you can leave before that. When paid plans begin, fees are in US dollars, taxes are added where they apply, and we'll publish refund terms before the first charge.
- Setup. Setup happens by text. Your line — a phone number for your shop — goes live the day carrier registration clears, usually about two weeks. We'll tell you when.
- Your rules. You set the rules: hours, services, deposits, who sees what. Maistro books inside those rules without asking. Anything else — a reschedule you start, a refund beyond returning money for a booking that failed, an outbound offer, cancelling software — waits for your yes. You can change the rules any time; changes don't rewrite bookings your clients already accepted.
- What you give Maistro, and what it does with it. You confirm you have the right to the information you bring — your client list, your notes, the logins you hand it — and you authorize Maistro to act on your behalf with other services in the course of running your shop: your payment provider, your old booking system during a migration, a subscription you ask it to cancel. Maistro uses those logins only for the task, stores them in a locked part of your account, and stops to ask you when it hits something it can't finish.
- Your phone. You forward your existing number to Maistro; you can un-forward it at any time from your handset. Maistro answers as your shop's automated assistant and says so. Calls may be recorded; whenever they are, the greeting says so. You can turn recording off for your shop by telling Maistro.
- Money. Payments run through the payment provider you connect, under that provider's terms. Payouts follow the provider's schedule, not ours. Maistro computes splits and rent from the terms you set and shows the math; we take no share of what you and your chairs agree between you.
- Your team. If you add the people who work your chairs, each gets their own thread and their own sign-in, and sees only their own book and numbers unless you change that. They agree to these terms when they start. You're responsible for how your shop uses Maistro, including by your team.
- Pause. You can pause Maistro at any time. Pausing stops new actions; anything already sent to a provider (a payment, a calendar change) is reported to you, not reversed by itself. While paused, clients who text get one honest reply and their message is passed to you.
- What we don't promise. We don't promise response times or same-day anything during the pilot. We do promise that every action Maistro takes has a visible status in your thread, that records are recoverable after an interruption, that there is a person you can text, and that we don't deploy changes during your shop's business hours.
- Your data. Your shop's records are yours. Export any time. Delete clients one by one. When you leave, export first and we delete the rest within 30 days. Your shop's phone number stays yours: you can port it to another carrier or service, and we'll cooperate with the port. We don't use your data or your clients' data to train AI models.
- Your clients. You're responsible for the messages sent in your shop's name: only clients who gave written permission get promotional texts, and STOP is honored immediately. Maistro enforces this for you; it can't override it for you.
- Leaving. Either of us can end the pilot with 14 days' notice in writing. We'll help you move.
6. Acceptable use
Maistro does what you ask within the limits you set, so these are limits on what you may ask. Don't use Maistro Chat to:
- text or call people who didn't agree to hear from your shop, or keep texting anyone who replied STOP;
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or pretend Maistro's messages come from a human when someone asks;
- break the law, or ask Maistro to break another service's rules on your behalf (we'll stop at a login check or a CAPTCHA that isn't yours to clear);
- put card numbers, government IDs or passwords in a message thread — the secure form exists for that;
- store or send content involving the exploitation of a child, or anything else illegal;
- probe, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing one.
We can suspend or close an account that does any of these. If it's a misunderstanding, text us first.
7. What's ours, what's yours
Maistro Chat — the software, the way it talks, its name and marks — is ours. Your shop's records, your clients, your name and your number are yours. If you give us feedback, we can use it without owing you anything, and we'll say thanks.
8. Other people's services
Maistro works alongside services we don't run: your payment provider, the phone carriers, Apple, Google, your old booking system. Each has its own terms, and we're not responsible for them. When one of them fails or changes, Maistro reports it; we can't fix what we don't control.
9. Limits
Maistro is a service that makes decisions and takes actions on your behalf. It can be wrong: a booking in the wrong slot, a reply that misreads a client, a number that's off. Review what it does — every action is in your log — and tell it when it's wrong. Maistro is not a lawyer, accountant or tax adviser; don't rely on it for that.
The service is provided as-is during the pilot. To the extent the law allows, Maistro Works is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of $100 or what you've paid us in the six months before the claim. Nothing here limits what the law won't let us limit.
If your use of Maistro breaks these terms or the law — texting people without permission is the obvious case — and someone comes after us for it, you'll cover the cost.
10. Disputes
California law applies. If we have a dispute, we'd rather talk first: email hello@maistro.works and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days. If we can't, it goes to the state or federal courts in San Francisco, California, and both of us agree to that.
11. Changes and housekeeping
We'll post changes here with a new date and tell pilot shops by text or email before they take effect. Using Maistro after that is agreeing to them. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the pilot.
